Don Lancaster's TV Typewriter PCB Set
Make your own reproduction TV Typewriter, designed by Don Lancaster and featured in the September 1973 issue of the Radio Electronics magazine. The PCB set consists of 4 unpopulated PCBs. Even if the PCBs are left unpopulated, this would make a great art piece of an iconic device from the 1970s.
These boards are direct copies of the PCB layouts that can be found in the TV Typewriter construction manual. That means that any original errors may still exist and will need to be corrected as outlined in the construction document.
This listing is for the unpopulated boards and all required components will need to be sourced by the purchaser. Some of the components, such as the Signetics 2524 shift registers, are hard to find. Be sure you are able to source the hard-to-find components before purchasing this set.
Refer to the construction manual for the required components. The following components may be hard to find:
- Signetics 2524 shift register (6)
- 4.561 MHz crystal oscillator
Set Contents:
- 1 Mainframe Board
- 1 Cursor Board
- 1 Timing Board
